A New Idea

This is a brand new idea for me, it looks fantastic on but sadly I'm terrible at taking photos.

The threads all finish in a gorgeous filigree cone with a lobster catch fastening.The black bead is a large glass button style with white hollow glass beads.

I really enjoyed doing this , only trouble is I need more waxed cord now !!

I don't know yet if I'm keeping this or selling it, knowing me I'll keep it

I think the next one will have more strands making it a real statement necklace.

Honest Scrap Award

Ohh I have my first blog award, so exciting...it's the honest scrap award from the lovely and very kind http://eljay1980.wordpress.com/. Thank you very much.

I got a lovely comment about my display cones and this award, hopefully the award means my blog is a good reflection of me...a really normal honest person who enjoys all forms of craft and appreciates the work involved.

so as the house has emptied this morning of children and my OH , I've been pondering my 10 honest things , so here goes

• I suffer with low self esteem and constantly worry about things I have said to people
• My family is my world and I dread the day when all my children move out

• I have a very short attention span and a terrible memory
• I have always wanted to do enamel work , and I have a small collection of enamel pots
• I can repair a car but I can't drive !
• I have and still do dream alot of dreams that in one way or another come true
• I hate housework and would rather be sitting playing with my beads
• I have a phobia of peaches, they make me shake and feel sick if I see one, I also have an aversion to unglazed pottery and frosted glass
• I'm useless at talking about myself and prefer to listen to others

Makes from a bad weekend...

This weekend has been very draining and upsetting so on Sunday I sat and crafted..for a while now I've wanted to tweak my display table without the huge outlay

so card and scissors in hand I came up with these

they are perfect for bracelets and easily replaceable should they get tatty, plus they stack really well .I have about 20 in black and white and intend to give them a trial run at my next craft fair

It's not often I get jewellery as a present anymore , but one of my bestfriends has just taken up peyote seed beading, I have tried to do it but lose patience with it ....so when she showed me a recent photo of one of her bracelets I asked her if she could do me one and she has

She is going to be my mum's birthday present,we lost our sister Wendy 10 years ago,Wendy was born with a congenital heart defect and had many problems over the years she sadly died during heart transplant surgery , she was a huge goth fan and looked very much like wendy woe...I know we all miss Wendy very much , she would have loved this little gothic fairy

Trying hard to get back into the swing of things.....

I've not made anything new for ages , sadly I recently miscarried again , my 9th now and it has took me longer than usual to get back into the swing of everyday life but I'm definatly getting there now.

I recently went to the bead and gem show at Newark showground and had a fantastic time as they had a whole seperate hall full of beads....heaven !!

Spent far more than I should but I came away with some lovely beads, I did buy alot of glass pearls and shell beads.

I love making this style and normally do them in whole range of mixed colours, I may do some in summery pastels next

my first attempt at hair combs , I'm quite pleased with them but I'm sure with practice I can only improve, I have also done another pair in cream and pink

Hopefully my beading inspiration is back and I have lots more new ideas
